The ARCONIC Foundation Global Internship Program is made possible through a generous grant from the ARCONIC Foundation. It is provided by the Institute of International Education, Blount Partnership, Blount County Public Library, and the Blount County Friends of the Library.

Paid Internship Program For Young Adults Interested in Manufacturing Careers

Registration is open for the paid Arconic Foundation Global Internship Program. The internships are customized for young adults 18 – 26 who want to explore careers in manufacturing. They earn up to $1,000.00 and a nationally-recognized Certified Manufacturing Associate credential from Tooling U-SME.

The program is a blended model of in-person and online classes through Tooling U-SME with an option to intern in person with a local manufacturer. It consists of three paid components: 1) 12 half-days of Workforce Readiness Training; 2) 100 hours of hands-on manufacturing experience interning with a Blount County manufacturer OR an option to complete the hours online; and 3) three half-days of Follow-up, a Career Fair, and Graduation. Participants must complete all components.

Interns:

Actively participate in 12 half days of workforce readiness training ($250 stipend)

Work 100 paid hours with a local manufacturer ($350 stipend)

Earn 3 paid half-days of follow up, which includes participating in Career Planning and Placement, a job fair, and graduation ($400 upon completion of all components and Tooling U-SME online courses)

Hands-on experience with a local manufacturer

Production Associate Certification from Tooling U
