Bridge Work Progressing in Blount County
The Blount County Highway Department has announced that all the repairs have been completed on the bridge
on Tuckaleechee Pike. The road will reopen by Thursday September 14 th .
Next week, work will begin to repair a bridge on Salem Road. A portion of Salem Road from Lambert Road to
Houston Springs Road (Windsong Subdivision) will be closed during this work.
Repairs continue to proceed on Clover Hill Road and Big Springs Road. To date the Blount County Highway
Department has completed two bridges and three slope stabilization projects in 2023. Additional bridge work
and slope stabilization projects are planned throughout the year.
Section of Clover Hill Road Closure for Bridge Repair
The Blount County Highway Superintendent, Jeff Headrick, announced Clover Hill Road will be closed from
the intersection of U.S. 411 to the intersection of Ridgeway Trail.
The closure will start on August 29 th at 8:30 AM and will last until September 26 th weather permitting. The
purpose is to repair a bridge on Clover Hill Road.
