The Blount County Purchasing Department is hosting its annual Vendor Day on Wednesday, September 27, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Any Vendor is invited whether currently doing business with Blount County Government or interested in learning how.
Mayor Mitchell adds to the invitation, “This will be a great opportunity for vendors to meet Blount County’s newly appointed Purchasing Director Charles Rafford and his entire team. I’m also very excited that he and his team have extended the invitation to other area purchasing departments to join us for this important networking event.”
Purchasing Director Charles Rafford adds, “We can all benefit from sharing information and resources. We have a lot of opportunities in Blount County, so hosting Vendor Day is a great opportunity to share information about vendor capabilities and diversifying our vendor list. Expanding the vendor options for Blount County is beneficial for the procurement process and is just good business for the citizens of Blount County.”
Vendors will have an opportunity to learn more about doing business with area governments within and surrounding Blount County. Our Department heads and other representatives will be able to answer any questions, register with our IonWave bidding system, and provide insight on future opportunities in our area.
Light breakfast items will be served.
Purchasing teams on site will include: Blount County, TN, Knox County, TN, City of Knoxville, TN, Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC), and the University of Tennessee.
