What should an employee do if injured after hours?
Notify supervisor immediately. Injured worker may seek treatment at one of the clinics listed on Employee's Choice of Physician form (Panel of Physician's) or Blount Memorial Hospital ER.

Notify supervisor immediately. Injured worker may seek treatment at one of the clinics listed on Employee's Choice of Physician form (Panel of Physician's) or Blount Memorial Hospital ER.

Are prescriptions covered?
Prescriptions written by the Authorized Treating Physician may be approved. However, compound creams and medications may require pre-certification.

Can an employee use a pharmacy of their choice?
Blount County Government uses Blount Discount Pharmacy and Walgreens as well as the dispensary at East TN Medical Group for workers' compensation prescriptions. Mail Order Pharmacy is also used for frequent refills. If an employee pays for an authorized prescription, turn in receipts to Risk Management and employee will be reimbursed.

Can an employee be reimbursed for the mileage to/from workers' compensation physician appointment?
Yes. The employee is reimbursed for travel beyond a 15 mile radius, or a 30 mile round trip from home or work. The current mileage rate is based on the current mileage allowance for state employees. The current state travel regulations can be found at http:state.tn.us/finance/act/travel.html
A mileage form must be completed by employee and submitted to Risk Management for reimbursement. A mileage form can be obtained on the website or thru Risk Management.

Can an employee be terminated for reporting a work related injury?
