The Blount County Youth Court (BCYC) is made up of students who hear cases of first-time, non-violent juvenile offenders. The BCYC employs a restorative justice model to connect juvenile respondents with the community and to prevent re-offense. Juveniles who complete the BCYC very rarely re-offend. In fact, the BCYC recidivism rate is less than 2%.
We welcome any young person from any walk of life who would like to be a part of the BCYC to apply and to attend training. BCYC meets the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Municipal Courtroom of the Alcoa Police Department, 2020 Wright Road, Alcoa, TN 37701.
