About Us: Our mission, vision, and how to reach us

Message from the Director:

Thank you to all who participated in our summer reading program!

I hope everyone’s enthusiasm for reading continues into the Fall and beyond. As we turn the page from Summer to Fall, Blount County Public Library has a lot in store for our community to enjoy! First off, our very popular Focus on Seniors returns on September 26 at 11 AM. Topics this year include: Understanding Medicare, Caregiver Resources, and Fall Prevention.

Calling all cinephiles!! BCPL will be debuting our Foreign Film Club! Each month we’ll view a movie from around the globe followed by a lively discussion. Our first movie will be the German suspense thriller M starring Peter Lorre on September 30. The 1922 silent horror film Nosferatu will be shown on October 28 and the 1953 Japanese drama Tokyo Story on November 18. All viewings begin at noon. Ages 18+ are invited!

October 7 is our annual Local Voices Day that begins at 9:30 AM. Visit with authors from the surrounding area. Culminating the event will be a presentation from celebrated author, Dr. William J. Carl.

Fall Fest is back!! Get ready to have fun on October 21 starting at 10:30 AM. There will be a concert featuring Jennifer Daniels, face painting, balloons, a craft fair, and a costume parade!

Whew! And that’s just a small sample of what Blount County Public Library has in store this Fall. We hope to see you soon!
