Business Resources

Business Resources is a Blount Partnership webpage that provides a readiness checklist for starting a new business along with related topical information on legal issues impacting small businesses. This helpful resource also provides links to county, state and federal guidelines for business owners.

Interlibrary Loans

The Library has a limited ability to borrow for its patrons materials that are not available in our local collection. The only cost to the patron for this service is return postage for the item borrowed. Interlibrary loan requests can be made through Adult Services in the Reference Area and at the Circulation Check-Out Desk in Patron Services.  For further information, go here.

Notary Public

At this time, during COVID-19,  all Public Notary requests are being referred to the County Courthouse, 341 Court Street, Maryville, TN 37804.  Please call first on 865-273-5700, as an appointment may be needed.

Public Access Computers 

The Library has 20 public access computers in the Information Services Department and six in the Children’s Department. The computers are equipped with a variety of software including Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. The Children’s computers have various games available. In order to use these computers, patrons are required to show their Library card or Internet card to register for computer use. All Library cards should be “in good standing” when requesting time on a library computer. Non-Blount County residents may use the computer if they are over 18 and show a proper ID or by purchasing an annual non-resident library card.

Reserve Books

Patrons can reserve any circulating item listed in Atriuum, the library's online public access catalog, by filling out a reserve request at the Circulation Desk at Patron Services or by placing the item on reserve online. Patrons will be notified by phone when the book is available. Click here for online instructions.

Tennessee Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped

The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, a unit of the Tennessee State Library and Archives, Department of State, offers FREE public library service to those unable to hold, read, or turn the pages of ordinary books and magazines due to physical or visual impairment. Special library materials are provided by the Library of Congress, and FREE mailing privileges for these materials is provided through the U.S. Post Office. Applications can be obtained on their website. Brochure for this service can be obtained at the Reference Desk in Adult Services.

U. S. Census 2020

Everyone living in the United States, District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories are required by law to count the population every 10 years.  The 2020 Census will mark the 24th time that this has been done since 1790. The census provides critical data that lawmakers, business owners, teachers, and many others use to provide daily services, products, and support for us and our community. Every year in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data.
