Patrons have the option to reserve materials that are currently checked out or on items in the catalog that are on order. This can be done either online through our catalog, by filling out a reserve request at the library, or over the phone.
If no copies are available, there will be an option to reserve the item.
If you are not already logged into your account, you will be asked to enter your library card and password before continuing.
Once you are logged in, your reserve request will go through.
You can view your spot in line on your account dashboard.
Reserve In Person
At the Checkout and Reference Desks, we have paper reserve requests forms that you can fill out.
Return the completed form to the Checkout Desk.
If you are uncertain whether or not we have an item, please refer to our online catalog or ask one of our staff members.
If you are unable to reserve an item using the other methods, please call Patron Services at 865-982-0981.
Once your reserve has been placed, you will be notified via email and/or text once the item has been returned and is available for pickup.
After you have been notified, we will hold your item at the Circulation Desk for 3 days.
If you do not pick up your reserve within that time frame, you will receive a $0.25 fine on your account for each item and your item(s) will be returned to the shelves or go to the next patron in line for the copy.
If you need to cancel a reserve that has been made available, you can do so by logging into your account online or contacting patron services.
Reserving an item is different than requesting to hold an item. To hold an item that is currently available on the shelves, a patron must call and verbally request the item be held item until closing time the next day.
For any questions about reserves and our other circulation policies, please contact us or visit our policies page.
