Chris Cantrell
Chris Cantrell began his public service with the Blount County Sheriff's Office in 1996 as a deputy assigned to patrol. He served as a School Resource Officer then was promoted to the rank of Corporal in the patrol unit. He served as the Sheriff's Office Accreditation Manager while achieving the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant. Chris was promoted to the rank of Captain for Court Services in 2013 and then as Deputy Chief of Support Operations in December 2014 which included adult and juvenile corrections and court services. He was appointed by the Blount County Commission as Circuit Court Clerk on November 21, 2024.
Chris and his wife Holly have 4 children and 3 grandsons.
Office Accomplishments
- Court system available to law enforcement agencies, attorneys, District Attorney General's Office, and collection agencies.
- We accept debit cards, Visa, American Express, Discover and MasterCard payments in person, through BIS, a third party administrator, with no cost to our office or Blount County. Additionally, all major credit cards are accepted on line via the Web at courtfeepay.com. For your convenience, if you do not have Internet access, you may phone in your payment for processing using a major credit card during normal office hours.
- Addition of payment kiosks have made it easier for the public to pay court costs when it is convenient for their schedules.
- No audit findings, weaknesses or recommendations for the fiscal year end June 30, 2016.
