Learn more about the types of cards we offer below.

In-County

First-time library cards are available to Blount County residents at no charge. These cards provide full access to print and digital collections and are renewable every 2 years.

After you submit the application, come to the front desk with a photo ID and proof of your mailing address, current to last 30 days, with your name on it (for example a piece of mail, a bill, rent receipt, etc.).

Out-of-County

Out-of-County cards provide full access to print and digital collections and are renewed annually. Individuals living outside of Blount County can apply for a Library card at an annual cost of $25 per person.

Out-of-County E-Cards

Non-resident/Out-of-County E-cards provide access to all digital collections and are available at the cost of $40 per person for 4 years.

Juvenile Cards

For patrons 17 years or younger, a parent, legal guardian, or other responsible party with a Library Card in good standing must fill out a Juvenile card application form at the Check-in Desk and present the completed form, along with their valid library card, to a staff member. The parent, legal guardian, or responsible party is responsible for any materials checked out on a juvenile's card.

Replacement/Lost Cards

If your card is lost, stolen, or damaged, you may receive a replacement for a fee of $3 per card in person at the library.

For a lost or stolen card, you must immediately report it to the library. You will be responsible for any materials checked out on the card, including any loss, damage, or overdue fines incurred.
